What was the first book that you have read? What was the last one?

The first book I read on my own was in first grade--Dick and Jane (yes, way back in the '50s) although my parents read extensively to me before I went to school. It wasn't the norm back then for kids to read on their own before school and it was pre-Dr. Seuss.

I just finished a non-fiction book Children Who Kill (Profiles of Pre-Teen and Teenage Killers) by Carol Anne Davis.

I don't exactly remember the first one. Probably something I read in school. I think the readers I used were Jack and Janet. The last book I read was Storm Front by Jim Butcher (1st book in the Dresden Files series).

The first book I recall reading by myself was Candy Floss, about a doll won at a carnival. The most recent book I read was Reading like a Writer by Francine Prose. The "last one" hasn't been written yet, I hope!
