My question is: Should that stripper go to jail for lying about those lacross players raping her? She did perjure herself and no matter WHAT-- there are always going to be people who believe they did it--no matter what the evidence. She ruined over a year of the BEST days of these guys lives... and there will be ongoing damage--- irreparable damage to their reputations.

They can sue, but she is a stripper.. It's not like she has any money. The only recourse to hold her accountable is to bring her up on perjury charges!

The First Dragon, I agree with you..and you might correct, she might have a severe mental issue that might be addressed. If so, they should sentence her to some sort of mental health treatment-- make her get help for not only herself but to other people she may accuse in the future.

To the last person to comment, You are exactly what I am talking about. People will STILL think they did it, even though the attorney general said they are INNOCENT--he didn't say NOT guilty, he said INNOCENT.

The DNA collected from her did NOT match their DNA. The only evidence nifong (sp) had was her supposed eye witness indentification. The did a line up of ALL lacross players, so it was a win-win with WHOEVER she picked.

You don't know the facts, and you are ignorant. Read all the information before you throw around accusations.

uhm ms j, the issue isn't her race, the issue she LIED- & these kids have suffered because of it. I think it is sad for a person of ANY race, gender or religious background to get persecuted unjustily. Your movie references &other stories aren't what I am asking about in this question.

I asked should she be held accountable for all the damage her lies cost the accused, the city of Raleigh, the entire lacross team, Duke University, & unnecessary investigation time and money that government incurred. Should she be the one charged now?

There are plenty of injustices in the black community (& white). My question wasn't a debate about that.

It was specifically about what should happen to this lady (& I use that term loosely). Your comment to "stop beating a dead horse" is ridiculous. It is NOT over for these kids and she should be punished. Depending on her sanity, she should either go to jail OR go to a mental hospital for a certain amt of time.

She should also pay fines to repay the debt she incurred on the taxes of the state. I am sure she didn't contribute to the tax money considering she is a stripper--and most don't pay taxes on their tips.

To say the very least she has in fact destroyed the lives of these young men and they have undergone horrendous treatment by the news Media, fellow students at Duke, the University itself, and the community as well. In the future they will have this pop up Evey so often even when they are old men. Imagine your son or daughter coming to you with some thing that they found on the Internet,....wow! I would love to see a lawyer for free represent the three young men and sue the Woman and the DA and the County. Understand that the DA charged two of the men in question with out any evidence. The girl was seen by a Duke guard (female) after the so called incidence. The girl didn't act funny to her and further why didn't her friend take her to the hospital. Second why didn't they release the boys after they didn't find any DNA in or on her from the boys that was May 6 2006, they were building blocks for a scum bag (DA) I understand that this young woman doesn't have any money but she was working on a degree and some day might have a lot but I think that she, DA, and the county need to for the attorney fees for the three young men and also pay punitive damages as well.

Note; ( April 15) You are right about the Lacross being lined up for ID but what was interesting was that she did a positive ID of two of them 100% and one at 90 % this was enough for the DA to file charges (I guess) along with the word that these boys did it. I have been writing a piece for a news letter about the News Media and how that so often have been Judge, jury and exercutioner. This is one of the examples.

If the girl is mentally competent, yes. Her actions have inflamed race relations, cost Durham County and the state of North Carolina an ungodly sum of money, and ruined the lives of three young men. Everyone knows they were not altar boys, but I challenge all of you to Inspect your own pasts. Did you never drink underage, never attend a wild party, never get rowdy or make too much noise for the neighborhood? I seriously doubt it.

Now there's the issue of whether she's mentally competent. I just don't think she is. Further, Durham needs to move on, Duke needs to move on, & the unjustly accused need to as well.

No the Congress should appoint her to the Global Warming Commission, she was only a stripper because she needed a job. It's not like she has a degree in it or it's a family business. But Global Warming would make her feel like she has a place in the community and she could STILL take her clothes off and do the thing with the other striper where they roll around on the floor together, but now she could do it for Congress, and I think Nancy Pelosi would not mind at all because before she was elected she was good frends with Anna Nicole and the two of them would go around at Christmas time caroling together but they never took their clothes off as far as I know because it was winter, and even in L.A., it just not something you do at the front door of your neighbor's house, even if your neighbor is Justin Timberlake--he has seen it all before, I'm sure because he used to go out with Britney and she was NOT innocent, as she herself has repeated in the refrain many many times before. So there you have it. I guess I said too much. But I have no regrets, and I would do it all again.

I would support her being sentenced to the same prison time the Duke athletes would have served if convicted by her false charges.
However there is some suggestion that she is so mentally unstable that she may actually believe all her contradictory stories. If this is the case, I would support her being committed to a mental hospital instead.
However, the prosecutor Nifong who knowingly and corruptly continued to persecute them after it became clear that there was NO case against them, should be given double prison time, since he was in a position of trust and responsibility.
I would not, of course, want to penalize anybody for an honest error.

Well... the fact that charges havent been charged should tell you that something isnt rite.... its seems that some white people are so quick to holler reverse racism. The fact that they where partying and drinking would not suprise me if she didnt have a good memory of what happened... im sure she would know if she got banged out by a bunch of dudes though... upper class young white kids are never held accountable especially when they come from them rich families...its a shame.

Yes. She ruined those young mens lives. She also cost the tax payers lots of money. She should pay all legal fees and be charged with making a false report and anything else they can get her on. They should also punish the District Attorney for his ineptness.

Absolutely YES! They were ready to send these guys to jail for years, I think that the same standard should apply to the Stripper.

Hell yes! At the very least jail. She destroyed the lives of those kids for nothing. Also, that fool Nifong (not sure of the spelling of his name), should share the same cell! Why aren't the two supreme racists, idiot boy sharpton, and that fool jackson down there kissing those boys as/s/e/s now? Sharpie was sure quick enough to jump on them when the charges were made! Shows what kind of "man" he is!!!

She should be held accountable to a certain extent. The Idiot they have for a DA should be held most accountable. If not for him and his little crusade her story would have been proven false very early on.
