To be honest you should talk to the other person about that. If the belief systems are totally different then what happens when you have kids. The final decision is yours and hers!

So long as the Mormon is faithful to their beliefs, no. A major goal for the Mormon is to get married in the temple. Non-Mormons are not allowed into the temple, so a Hindu could not be their "eternal spouse." The marriage would end at death, and the Mormon wouldn't get to go to the Celestial Kingdom.

From the Hindu point of view, I'm not sure.

It would all depend on how devout each party is in thier religion..

My husband was raised Jehoviah's Witness and I was raised Mormon... Neither of us is devout or practicing so we have not run into many conflicts of religion...

I know other couples who are from different religions (Catholic and Mormon, Southern Baptist and Mormon) where either both or only one is devout and practicing, Some butt heads constantly and others work well..

Marriages between religions can work but both parties need to be willing to accept the others beliefs as ok for thier partner even if they do not choose to share those religious beliefs for themselves... They also need to see religion as a communion between a person and thier god(s) of choice and not a competition of who's religion is better...

Addition..

Other posters have brought up kids and what to do when they come along... For my husband and I, we each explain our belief on any given thing... We also explain that our two beliefs are not the only ones out there... We help our children research other beliefs when asked and let our children make up thier own minds as to what they believe..

We see it as a help in raising independantly thinking children...

No. The whole purpose of a mormon is to convert you to their way of thinking. They do work on a lot of logic, but it's twisted logic, and can be confusing. My main argument with the whole basis of Mormonism is that Joseph Smith, as a Christian, didn't even get the proper answer from the spirits that were talking with him, as his own faith instructs...therefore debunking the whole thing from the start. Hinduism is not only MORE logical, but more tolerable in it's belief system. I also find so much of the Hindu faith to parallel the teachings of Jesus Christ.

Anything is possible, however both faiths are usually encouraged to marry someone of another faith!
I am Mormon/LDS (convert) my husband came from a family that was Hindu, but he never practiced it. He is a LDS/Mormon convert.

Mormon belongs to which country?

But Hindu marrying other religion girls are quite common in India. my girl friend was a muslim but married a good hindu boy. so marrying an other religion was not a matter.

you have to get permission if you have indian parents because you have to have touch with them in future. they will help you if you are in problem

anything is possible....my parents were different religions so I know that it can be done (but they weren't mormon and hindu)

my hubby and I were different religions too, until last year...I decided that I wanted us all to be the same since our babies are his religion. he never pushed me to change but it just made me feel more like we are a family if we are all the same
(we weren't mormon and hindu either, if that makes any difference to you)

As far as I have read and observed, All religions preach love and peace. All religions say to love other human beings. All religions believe in universal brotherhood.
Man created religion, God only created the world. I feel that love has the energy and fire to overcome all barriers of religion, language, nationality and race. If both of you love each other, you can have a world full of mutual admiration and where spirituality can replace religion.

I bleieve that if you make it an issue, then it will be.
I believe that if you focus on your love, and maybe focusing on the fact that you are both spiritual people is the best bet.
I used to think that it would make a big difference, but have
come to know that as long as you are both willing to accept your differences....there is nothing that can make an issue out of religious differences.
Good Luck. I hope that this helps, and congratulations on your love.

how mormon and how hindu? if you are those faiths in name alone (which i doubt or the question would not be posted) then sure, it can work. if you both practice your faiths, no...mormons believe in one God, hindus have several...there would be endless fights just over that...especially if kids are born.
