I made a U-turn a few weeks ago in my Honda Accord, hopped the curb, and popped a hole in my sidewall - I did this all at a low speed, i.e. u-turn speed. Obviously I had to replace the tire, and ended up replacing two because my car manual said so. The guys at Discount Tire replaced my tires, balanced them, and rotated them, placing my new tires on the rear of the car and bringing my two old ones to the front. These old tires had 15,000 miles on them. Since then, I've been looking out for signs of misalignment. The car doesn't pull to either side when driving, but I have noticed that I feel like I am being hit by a wind gust on the road - it's very slight but noticeable. Do I have a problem with my alignment caused by hitting the curb, or is this just a result of driving with the mismatched tires? (The tires are identical except for tread pattern, but obviously the age/wear is different.)

If you hit the curb hard enough to pop the tire, you hit it hard enough to do other damage. I would have it checked. As long as the two front tires are matched, it should be OK

Take it to a place that does alignment and have them check to see if your cat needs alignment. You do not need to go fast to knock the alignment out of your car

The time to get your front end checked was when they put those tires on there. That's where they do front end alignments so it seems like they would have said something to you. I think you are feeling something but it could be that you are just hypersensitive right now. In a week you won't notice it anymore.

Most the time the steering wheel will be off center if the suspension was bent out of alignment. It never hurts to know if the four wheels are pointed the right directions. When in doubt align the car.

the new tires should have been put on the front since that is your drive tires and i would go and have the alignment checked since it doesnt sound like you have had on done recently. they suggest checking it about every six months due to normal driving pot holes and such

it probably wouldnt hurt to have it checked,rebecca.1 way you can tell,is get on a straight and level highway and let go of the wheel and see if it want to go off the road or over the center line.
