My daughter already has her two central bottom teeth. She's been crying for weeks and I assumed it was teething pain and rubbed orajel on the upper gums in the center where I expected that pair of teeth to cut through....it never seemed to give her any relief. Today, I notice a white cap coming through, except it isn't one of her middle upper teeth, it is the one of the teeth that are next to the middle teeth. She only has one though. I thought that teeth usually cut in pairs and usually in a specific sequence( such as the bottom central pair, then the top central pair). It is just not the case for my daughter. Has anyone ever heard of this? Is this something I should be concerned about or am I being overly worried? Is this something that can cause more future problems with her teeth such as over-crowding, etc.? Any opinions would be helpful! Thanks in advance!

Yup it's called cross cutting and it is perfectly normal, my two eldest kids both cross cut, and when I look at my 11 week olds gums the outer teeth are closer to the surface than the middle so I'm guessing that she will be the same. Don't be worried about over-crowding as the teeth will push and move around so that there is enough room for them all.

There are teething rings with saline / water in them. They have a very small toy floating inside of each bubble. I used to have two or three and put them in the fridge. They don't freeze. Just the coolness is soothing. By the way, people especially babies don't operate by books. your baby could teeth way sooner than the book says. Also, might be that your baby just didn't like that tething ring. They like fingers too!!!!! I'm sure that you have found that out. Keep the variety of rings, but make sure to get the saline ones, they are smushy and babies love them. The ones you bought, babies just love to throw them. They make noise when they hit the floor and make the parents go crazy. That cracks babies up. Num-Zit teething gel. Your baby is 2 1/2 months, very close to three,,,,,,right. U see the directions and reccommendations are alll estimations. Because they don't personally know your baby, so they can't know when they are teething or sitting up, or biting your finger. Right??????????

Babys teeth tend to come whenever adn usually not in sequence as we are led to beleive. Some babies dont get them untio they are nearly two and other not long after they are born.I wouldnt get to stressed about it. I also wouldnt worry about over crowding right now. Some kids are just different. Pretty boring if they were all the same. I remember my daughters teeth started moving when she was 3 mths old and her teeth basically came altogther. She is 10 now and has no problems with over crowding.

Don't worry =) my daughter is 15 months and just got her first tooth, yep, i said tooth. Then, about a week later, she got her second tooth. Right now she has two teeth on her bottom, and no sign of teeth anywhere else as of yet. My dr said everything was fine. All babies are different. Always trust your gut tho, if you think something is off, ask your dr, thats why they get paid the big bucks.

I've heard of them coming in out of sequence, so while its not the most common way its not that weird. I wouldn't be worried. As far as overcrowding goes, thats more genetic than anything, nothing to do with the order they come in. If you and her dad had to get braces, she's much more likely to need them too. And as a mother who's already been advised by the dentist to start an orthodontic fund (for our 3 year old), you just have to deal with it and fix it when they're older.

It just depends on the kid. And in a couple of days I wouldn't be surprised if you see another tooth poking through. Every time my daughter has gotten a new tooth a second one pokes through within a week. If you are concerned ask your pediatrician of call a pediatric dentist. But I wouldn't worry too much.

Totally normal. My son's pediatrician said that every baby is different, and it's very common for three different babies to have their teeth come in in three different orders. If she has a whole mouth of teeth and those two front top teeth still aren't in, then I'd worry.

Its totally normal, don't worry about it. My daughter got her fangs first - tell me that didn't look wierd, like I had a vampire child! - but the rest of her teeth filled in fine and she has no problem with her teeth. Hope this helps!

I wouldnt freak too much, a friend of a friends baby cut molars first then the front ones, your baby is just one of the special ones. Sometimes babies are even born with a tooth!!
