Take the oil cap off and look for a white milky substance. If you have one, you have water in the oil.

Run the engine for about 5 minutes and then turn it off and check the oil for bubbles on the stick.

oil and water dont mix, it will look milky. or like a cappucino:)
there may be a little of this around the oil fill cap which is normal due to condensation.

If you have a coolant leak into the crankcase you will notice the oil level rising.
White sludge under the filler cap is sign, however the sludge could result from fuel contamination, a faulty thermostat, or PCV valve.
