I did, for years when autumn came I wanted more than anything to get in the car and go west, or south, just see new things live a new life, see the way of the rest of the world.
I might add, I was and am happily married a mom and grandma and all the ties that bound me to home were happily assumed and for the rest of the year were no problem at all. But, come fall, my eyes would go to the setting sun and my heart would go over the mountain.
One year I was getting ready for Thanksgiving and I realized that I hadn't had that feeling, I knew then I was getting old.
Its never come back, and in retrospect I'm glad I never went, nothing could beat what I had right here.
And I like my own bed.

Yes and I have many times. My favourite thing to do is grab my cd's, my "special baggie and toys", some clothes, my camera and just hop in the car and go. Sometimes I make it home that night, sometimes I don't.
Whenever I have serious stuff on my mind, I like to "zen drive" and just zone out. By the time I get home I have my answers and I have also filled my camera and possibly had some remarkable spiritual insights. Thing is, I live on an island so there is only so far you can drive. It costs $55 to get over to the mainland if you want to drive for... thousands of miles.
Join me and I will show you some fabulous mountains, fields of flowers, maybe a bear or two, and ocean on all sides. I might even let you drive!

Oh yes......and I love to get on a train and go across the country...I have done that on the spur of a moment a few times..so much fun and relaxing! I really do not like driving it is not relaxing to me...but to just take off..oh wish I was right now!

Oh sure but I am very indecisive so once I get to the 1st split in the road I can't decide what to do and end up going back home.

Oh, yes...wanderlust is such an insatiable desire! I would love to just sponatneously take off for France, Baton Rouge, or Alaska for a month or so, then write stories based on what I experienced and saw in those places.

God yes, have I ever!!! Usually the thought is just a passing fancy but lately I have actually begun planning out "escape " agenda's and fantasizing about them.....scary huh?!

OMG I think about it every Friday!!! I hate going to work on Fridays and just want to get in my car and drive far far away :-) But Im always better on Saturdays :-)
