People like them, & directors know that horror movies get people to the theatre so they'll make $. It's smart on the director's part, but not good for people like me who hates the PREVIEWS of horror flicks, let alone the actual MOVIE in its entirety.

To each his/her own. Some like comedies, I think they are senseless, but I love horror and suspense. It at least makes you think and you keep you interest. I like love stories also but horror is my favorite. It has to have a story though, not like Friday the 13th or Halloween where they just keep killing. I liked the Messengers, I love movies like Silence of the Lambs, etc.
