I just watched the movie again (for like the 100000th time) and i still love it..and we're going to visit the place where they filmed it in Germany..Anybody been there? If so, how is it? (i'm curious :])

I saw it when lived in Europe and then about 4 months later we went to Austria and saw lots of the places like the horse fountain and the park where they do a lot of the 'Doe Ray Me' song. It's really lovely there but I'd seen the fountain before I'd seen the movie as well and I liked it then - probably the first thing I notice how detailed and beautiful the sculturing was.

Rogers and Hammerstein had some great musicals. I recently saw a video hosted by Shirley Jones called: "The sound of movies", it's a story of their musical careers. It was a great and very informative video, that I have watched several times already. And I highly recommend it to anybody who enjoys their music. She talks about, Oklahoma, The King and I, State fair, Carousel, and a couple more that have slipped my mind. I got it from my library.

I too love The Sound Of Music. It's the musical that got me interested in musicals. I haven't seen it in years, but it's still one of my favorites. That sounds so exciting going to visit the place where it was filmed. I've never been there, but you have a wonderful time.

Great movie...I have the soundtrack and the songs are just so catchy! Some of my favorite aspects of the movie are the costumes, the set, and the acting. Why can't we make good old movies like that anymore?

The Sound of Music is a great movie! :) No, I have never been to the place that they filmed it though. :( I think that you can learn a lot from it! Especially singing! LOL.

Nooooooo!!!! My elementary music teacher would punish (yes I said punish) us by making us watch that movie when ever we would act up in class. So to this day I associate that movie with psychological abuse.
