im going to ask this girl out who is a foreign exchange student from germany, are there any tips you can give me about their culture, is there any special way to they ask a girl out in Germany? Thanks.

If you speak German, ask her out in German."Moechtest du ins Kino gehen?"-- would you like to go to the movies? If not, speak reasonably slowly as English is probably her second language. Many Germans who speak English speak it well, but it's still a foreign language to them. Take her to a sit down American restaurant; I'm sure that she is interested in learning about American food. I understand that Germans really like American steaks so if you can afford it, take her to a steakhouse. If she doesn't smile nonstop, don't worry. Women from western Europe tend to smile a little less than in the US (but they still smile). Supposedly, a woman in Europe who smiles nonstop is considered less intelligent. If you want, you can talk about Germany with her but leave it up to her what she wants to talk about. Be sure to walk up to her house/apt when you pick her up (don't just sit in the car and honk your horn). Be sure to open the door for her and when she goes to the ladies room, stand up. Also be sure to be on time (German culture tends to be punctual). Try not to bring up the subject of WW2 (not really good mealtime conversation); you'd be surprised by the number of ppl who try to talk with German ppl about the war. Have a good time! Though German culture may be different from US culture, both of our countries are still western countries with some similarities.

I'm from Germany.
I don't know how old you are, but European teens tend to be a little more mature than American teens. They usually have more manners and are a little more polite. (I'm not talking about every single person, but I'm talking in general. So, this girl could be totally different from what I'm talking about.)
Anyway, Germans also tend to be a little more reserved in the beginning when they meet somebody. They are not as open as Americans, because they think they might be invading your privacy. They are not much small-talkers, but prefer more interesting and deeper conversations. Also, when you ask a German "How are you?" They normally think that you REALLY want to know how they are doing. It's not just a greeting.
Ask her questions about her culture, her country, the food, some of the customs. Show that you are interested in knowing more about her and her heritage. Do some studying on Germany also, the current affairs, news...Maybe learn a couple of words in German, so that she sees you are interested. She will be surprised if you know some words in her language. And if you say them wrong, she will probably laugh and help you out.
If you want to ask out a German girl, it's the same with Americans, "Hey, would you like to go out with me some time?" Same thing.

1) Be yourself. Ask her naturally. Germans (and most Euros) spot phonies from miles away.
2) Do not mistake their reserved nature for coldness or lack of interest.
3) Don't forget that while most girls in the United States TALK about equality, German women actually LIVE it and take equality for granted.
4) German women are definitely maturer than most. Dump the small talk. That's not what she's dating you for. Have something to say, or she'll find somebody who will.

if you decide to take up german do not say Ich bin heiss or Ich bin warm or Ich bin kalt
Literally they mean I am hot, I am warm, and I am cold. Most Americans think thats how you say it in german, but in germany it really means I'm horny, I'm gay, and I'm sexually impotent.
for temp you say Mir ist heiss, mir ist war, mir ist kalt
just a little culture thing

Just ask her out in a polite way.If she came as an exchange student, she's prepared for how you do things in your country.
