does anyone remember the name of an 80s or 90s movie that featured a murderous or out-of control female android? i also think that the female android in this movie was a teenager and in the end i think she died. please help

...reeling from the unexpected success of "A Nightmare on Elm Street", director Wes Craven chose, for his next project, a variation on the 'Frankenstein' story, entitled "Deadly Friend". A young adolescent boy genius falls for a young & innocent girl next door, who is being abused by her drunken father. The girl suffers a fatal accident down the stairs, at the hands of the parent, and the young man, who has built an extraordinary mechanical android, steals the body of the girl from the morgue, and implants the electronic brain of the android into the girl. Assuming the memories of the android, as well as the memories of the girl, she comes to life, and becomes psychotically obsessed with getting even with the ones that hurt her, including her Dad.

At the end, she DOES die, despite a twisted, vengeful ending!!!

...and leave us not forget character actress Anne Ransey's character's gory and explosive death by basketball!!!

Unfortunately, the film has yet to see official release on DVD; we can only hope.......
