Well sort of, they're born in the wrong body basically, so that's from birth. They're not born females with penises. That would be more of a hermaphrodite. Though some people are born with genders that are not easy to identify at birth, and often get turned into females and raised as such, but still grow up to be males. Fun stuff.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. That is a porn term.
Women who find they have been born in the wrong bodies or men who have found they have been born in the wrong bodies have a medical condition called gender identity disorder or gender dysphoria.
Research now seems to indicate there is a relationship between the amount hormones these folks are exposed to in utero before they are born.
There is also significant brain research which is indicating that the brains of regular bio women and the brains of regular bio men are different that the brains of gender dysphoric people.
Indications of gender dysphoria may come up early in life, but not be recongized or acted upon until the person is older.
I am always surprised these questions come up under the LGBT umbrella since transsexuals (often reluctantly) are under this umbrella. There needs to be more education in the LG community.

It depends. A transsexual is not born that way. Some people are born hermaphrodites, that is they possess both male and female genes. Most of the time the doctor will perform corrective surgery on the child.

Some people are born with ambiguous genitalia and/or reproductive organs. They are called hermaphrodites.

Perhaps you are referring to transsexuals and intersexed individuals. I don't know about that, I would say maybe. I can tell you that tests say I have a masculine brain, even though I like my female body and appearance. I liked always having a female body, but I had to work long and hard from the time I was 14 to the time I was 22 to like *looking* female.

If you're talking about hermaphrodites, then yes they're born that way. But when the baby is born, the doctor will usually perform surgery to remove the "extra" genitals depending on the gender of the baby.

Hermaphrodites are born with ambiguous genitalia. Most receive gender assignment surgery while still young. Those that don't remain "dual-gendered," and are often sterile.

However, the she-males you are most likely talking about are gay men who take hormones to diminish their beard and to grow breasts.

I understand that a few babies are born with indeterminate genitalia. There's more variety in the human species than we realize.

You mean same thing as a hermaphrodite?
If yes, then yes, they are born that way. It comes from having a abnormal sex gene. (XXY) I believe its also known medically as Klinefelter's Syndrome.
