Finding out that you are being taken to court by your landlord for not paying rent in 5 months. Husband has a mental disorder and was not spending money the right way. Is a sinking feeling that you won't have a place for yourself and my beloved pets. Everything is resolved but it was an eye opener to change things in life.

My 18th birthday, on a motorcycle trip in the mountains of North Carolina when a tropical storm came in. I had no idea the storm even existed, much less knew where it was going. Decent weather one moment, then 2 minutes later there were sheets of water coming out of the sky and I was dodging lightning & hail.
Managed to pull of onto a side road and find a bar to wait at for an hour of so, but had to get back on the road to get to town & somewhere to spend the night.
The rain never slowed down and visibility was by then just a hair above zero (I'd say maybe 50 feet at most) for the rest of the ride. It also didn't help that I just happened to be leading a group of 7 other bikes off the mountain by pure chance. It took an hour & a half to go 30 miles into town to get a room for the night.

I got locked in my own car a year ago. Sounds silly but most cars now have automatic door locks once the car is in gear. If your battery cable become loose during driving, you are shut down completely!! All my doors and windows were in the locked or up position when my positive battery cable came loose. The power to the entire car was shut down. All doors were locked and windows too. Very scary, had to get out from the trunk!

On Feb 13th, my car completely died in the ghettos of Detroit, in the dark, and during a horrible snow and ice storm. Some homeless guy helped me out for an hour until my help arrived.

One time I was getting into my car, and I had a strange feeling because a weird guy had been standing in my driveway earlier that day, and I was driving to Brooklyn when I look behind me and he was laying in my backseat. It was some homeless guy... i gave him 20 and my subway pass. Thank god he only wanted a warm place to sleep
