My guess is that if anything happens to you because of it, it's on you because you assumed the risk.

If you do not return a toy that has been recalled, contact the company for a replacement part/toy, or repair the toy in any other way and an accident occurs because of the toy, your family cannot sue the company for your injury. With the Easy Bake Oven Recall, I think all you had to do was contact them and they sent out retrofit kits, you don't have to give back the toy, so why not get it repaired?

http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/prhtml07/07096.html is the recall information for the Easy Bake Oven Recall.

1-800-601-8418 is the phone number to call between 8:30am-4:30pm ET to receive the retrofit kit for free.

Personally, I think all parents should head to warnings on toy recalls, unless it's something like small parts choking hazard and your child is 12. But that's just my opinion.

You don't have to send it back. Though there are reasons for recalls such as if your Easy Bake Oven has a malfunction where the unit over heats and catches on fire. Hasbro then takes responsibility and says "We're doing a recall on this product". You then take that opportunity to return the product and get your money back with out questions. Later on, you can wait till the company does what it has to do to make it better and then buy it again.

This all applies to anything from Peanut Butter to Pet Food. It's all about safety and the company wants you, your friends, and family to be safe from their mistake.

Hope that helps.

A secret radio signal is sent out to make it melt down the next time you turn it on.

NO, seriously nothing happens. If a recall notice is issued it is the consumer's responsibility to turn it in. If they do not then they assume all liability and responsibility if the product fails.

An easy bake oven consists of a simple timer circuit and a light bulb. Possible problems could be an electrical short that causes a fire or a flammable material positioned too close to the bulb that could cause a fire. If you don’t care about the chance of a fire then and it is fine with you then don’t go crying to the company if you home catches fire.

Nothing happens.

I remember when they made those dolls that ate plastic food, and I was very small, and got one for Christmas (my little sister did too).

But then it ate some little girl's hair, and they did a recall... I was so, so upset. I was crying, and I didn't understand why I had to take back my new toy (it was my favorite out of all of them). :(

I remember we got out money back and my mom said I could get a new doll... I don't even remember what I got. There was nothing I wanted but that doll that ate plastic food. :( It was so sad, it as snatched away from so many kids because some stupid girl let the doll eat her hair.

I think they just make recalls public so you do not have an injured or worse child, but to also cover their own butts against lawsuits. So, now if your oven later burns your eyebrows off you can't sue because you chose not to take it back and to keep using it.

alongside with your toddlers being so close in age. this is complicated to do away with stuff because of the fact , the subsequent newborn would be twiddling with it in some months. loose-cycle is an remarkable element- i actual in simple terms loose-cycled to important luggage of toys to make room for Christmas stuff. I additionally purchase tubs to save toys in and rotate the toys each couple months. it form of feels issues get performed with extra while they're new and if i save them for 2 months and convey them back out this is like Christmas yet back. I shop maximum toys on cabinets, and toys packing containers, it form of feels in the event that they're put in toy packing packing containers they only take a seat there the toddlers by no ability dig right down to work out what they have. tell your loved ones you have sufficient toys ask them to purchase simpler issues alongside with outfits, diapers, potty chair, video clips, and so on. while you're over ran with toys bypass forward and freecyle a number of them. you may desire to truly make someones Christmas who's far less fortunate then you definately are.
