What is a Streetteam?

I heard it was like a big fan club...is that right? You juss promote a band yourself?

yes, u volunteer to spread the word about a band, usually an up-and-coming artist that is not so well known...generally, u pass out fliers, put up posters about shows, put banners on your myspace profile, encourage other people to listen to the artist by posting on forums, etc...it`s a lot of fun, & most street teams reward members with cool merch like signed memorabilia, passes to shows, etc...
