Your original supposition is wrong.
1976: 8.8 murders per 100,000 inhabitants
2005: 5.6 murders per 100,000 inhabitants
The rate has gone down. Whether that's due to the legalization of the death penalty or other causes is another issue.

There is no way of knowing whether the death penalty has increased the amount of murder`s, we have no way of knowing how many murder`s would have been committed if there was no death penalty, at least if a murderer is executed he can never kill again.

I just watched a whole documentary on this. The death penalty has absolutely NOT deterred people from murder. So I agree why is it still in place? But then again, jail time and prison time has no effect on crime either. People come out better criminals and they are angry. The need more CORRECTION in the correction system.

Crime increases because there are more criminals, not because there are greater penalties.
I see you failed to quote your source. Murder rates go up and down, and death penalty advocates can use statistics to support their beliefs.
Next time use some facts to support your opinions.

It really isn't used enough, it takes all kinds of time and money to execute a person who has convicted and judge to die. That is one thing I like about George W. Bush, when he was governor of Texas, he executed more than any other states.

Because some people want vengence, and they get it in the name of justice.
Also, some people believe that it's worth killing some people, even if other people commit more crimes.
