A loft is usually just a large open space divided by furniture into various usable areas. Old warehouses are being turned into "loft apartment" all over the place.
Condos, short for condominium, are just like having part of a house. There are separate rooms, but the unit is usually attached to other units that look exactly alike.
Condos usually have professionals take care of the outside, like grass and snow. That's why many elderly like them.
