is it a robot or what? who used it against him? if you read batman year 2 u can see the rex in the background also in batman the chalise. but how did he acquire it.

After Batman & Robin battled a mechanical T. Rex in a Gotham amusement park called "Dinosaur Island", Batman brought it back as a trophy, putting it on display in the Batcave for years. It hasn't worked since it was brought back to the cave, and it was eventually destroyed in the Gotham earthquake called "the Cataclysm". And actually, up until the 1950s, the dinosaur in the batcave was a brontosaurus, even though it had been a T. Rex that Batman & Robin had battled. Later writers fixed that error. The battle can be seen in Batman #11, "The Isle that Time Forgot."

Ray (The Atom) Palmer loaned Batman his shrinking ray so he could get the dinosaur in the door. Also, that way, nobody can steal it, because you can’t get it out again.

its a robot thats part of the batcaves defense system.
i believe (not 100% sure) he got it from the original toyman. who used it against batman.
