Yes. My best friend's husband is serving his second tour in Iraq right now. He's in the Army, part of the scouts.

Many interesting insights from those who are actually there.

Yes. He's done two tours in Afghanistan and is in Iraq and thinks we're the greatest thing that's happened to that country. His native interpreters feel the same.

I have a friend who was one of the first marines in Iraq. He had it a little more action that what is going on now.

Step Brother.

He loved it, but had to come back because a ball bearing from a roadside bomb ripped a quarter size hole all clear through his leg.

Now he has a desk job making a crapload of money and they are paying for his college 100% and possibly his wifes. He also got 35,000$ from the military for getting hurt.. I guess something to keep his mind off the pain?? I am not sure why.

My Nephew is a seargent in 23rd Marines and has served two tours there as a rifleman.

First thing he said when he told me about was where was all the negative the media reported. That tells the story.

definite buddy driving a provide truck. in basic terms neglected getting blown up so he feels fortunate yet as well like he's on borrowed time. tremendous activity that they are doing over there given what they were given to placed up with.

My husband returned from Iraq on Oct. 5th and redeploys in late June. The original return date was September but thanks to the 'troop surge' it's been pushed up.
