I have a felony charge from 1995 and a misdemeanor charge from 1996 in the state of michigan. Q-can they be removed if i have not been in any trouble sence then? Iam trying to get a job that requires no felony's or misdemeanor's. I have heard that after so many years you can have them removed, is this true, and what would i need to do?

You are definately going to need an attorney to get it expunged. It depends on your state's laws, so really only an attorney from your area can fully answer this. They would have to know all the circumstances of your case and see the files for themselves. The only other way is for a Governor's or President's pardon.....good luck getting any of those.

1 it depends on what kind of felony 2 yes they can be removed 3 call dept of justice and ask them to send you the papers to get these removed from your record 3 then you need to fill out the papers and take them to the police dept and have a police officer sign and date then you send the papers back to the dept of justice then they remove the items form your record then it's a clean slate OK good luck if you have any questions just ask oh yes they are in Sacramento,Calif

It depends on the class of felony. Class 1 is the worst. I don't think they can take those off. You need to see an attorney.

It depends on the state, and the specific crimes involved.

Check with your local county court (assuming they are state crimes and not federal). You should be able to get information about how to petition to get your record expunged.
