try on a few pairs at a maternity store to get a feel for the sizes first. I was a size 8 pre pregnancy and the mediums are still a bit big! I have just been buying jeans in larger sizes. now at 15 weeks I am wearing a size 14-16!! Old Navy fits really well though..they size theirs so you still buy a size 8 and it fits perfect. Those are the only maternity pants that dont fall off me. AND they are sooo comfy and cute!

I am 7 weeks pregnant.I started a size 7 and am now a size 8 to 10 in jeans.I find that that is a small in maternity stores that measure clothes in small ,medium and large.I went to target the other day however, tried on a bunch of maternity clothes, and I was a size 4.I thought this was strange.Maternity sizes depend on the store you shop at.Try them on before you purchase them.

Unless you're carrying multiples (or gaining more than recommended), you'll be the same size in maternity that you were prepregnancy. For a size 8 that would fall into medium.
Just an idea: go to local stores and try on clothes in the store to verify size, then buy through a discount site like eBay.

I work at a maternity store... I'd say about a medium, but always try stuff on.
Also most maternity stores carry this thing called a tummy sleeve or a rendition of it. It's this great really stretchy tube top looking thing. you can put it over top of your undone pants and it keeps them up. They usually look like just a layered tee.
Some women even just use a tight tube top , as long as you feel it will keep everything in I suggest you go for it!
Im too far along for that now but until you get to the actual "showing" stage it could be quite useful.

I was an 8 also. I am now 31+ weeks pregnant. I started out in mediums, but then at around 20 weeks I had to switch to large pants, medium shirts, now all I can wear are larges. I am/have always been carrying very low & straight out. It is very uncomfortable to be binded by pants when you are carrying this low, therefore, that's why I switched to larges. You'll see. Just don't overdue it until you are halfway thru. Good Luck!
Oh, & I have gained the right amount of weight....not too much, not too little. It just depends on the person & pregnancy.

I would go in and try on some clothes. Liz Lange at Target is cute, but it runs smaller than Motherhood Maternity. The gap maternity stuff runs different than Old Navy. If you were an 8 before, you should try an 8 in maternity clothes that have real sizes in them. Because of the variation in sizing I recommend you try stuff on, and if you order it online be sure they make it easy to do returns/exchanges.

The girdle I have no clue on, but I found a very nice selection of plus sized maternity clothes at target. They were a little expensive so most of my maternity clothes were just normal plus sized clothes that had elastic waists. Good luck!

I was a size 7 and bought a pair of small maternity pants and they are way too big on me..I guess it depends on the make of the pants and your best bet is to try before you buy.
