The laptop 2.5" hard drive can be connected to a desktop PC using an adapter like this one :

The matter of transferring the OS is not that simple, & rather complicated to do successfully. I would not recommend trying it .... would almost certainly end up as an exercise in futility.

You won't be able to connect your laptop's hard drive to a desktop computer, so it is a moot point. Even if you could, you wouldn't be able to transfer the OS.
