i was looking at the differences betwee nthe 360 core and 360 pro units, and the core unit didnt come with an ethnet cord, would that affect my ability to connect online? (i have wireless internet)

Well the Ethernet port on the back of the 360 is for you to hook up the Internet to it. It should come standard in all units, however not the cable(long gray cable), its only found on the Premium package. It's good to know that you have wireless Internet(as so do I), but unfortunately you will need a separate wireless adapter that plug in into the back so that you don't have to use the cable. The wireless adapter runs about $100 bucks. If you don't buy the adapter is not the end of the world, but it's more convinient, since the wireless router would have to be close to your console because the cord only reaches 30 or so feet.

Unfortunately the xbox 360 does not come with a wireless network card. You will need to purchase a Wifi Connector.

You can just get an ethernet cable and connect it to your network that way. Thats what i have done, just run the cable under carpet etc.

You will need to purchase a wireless device for your xbox360 however.

If you intend on using Xbox live, you need a hard drive.

it might make the xbox work. otherwise ask microsoft.
