today a mechanic took off my side post on the battery and the car kept runnin but the battery light is still cuming on wat is the problem sumone please help

Go to a mechanic whose family tree doesn't look like a pencil. Any mechanic who would test an alternator like that has no business touching cars. Get a voltmeter for $15 and measure the battery while the engine is running. If it's not over 13.6 volts, the alternator is going.

The alternator might not be putting out enough voltage.... check that, and make sure your fan belt is tight also.

YOU CAN NOT CHECK A LATE MODLE CAR THAT WAY!!! buy a new alternator if it was good then it probably is not now.
