My uncle went to HHGregg to buy one on sale that was 1gb. They told him to buy another because it was digital, but it was only 513mb. I thought they all were digital, but that threw me!!! Thanks.

Yes.
MP3 is a digital file format. The equipment to play it back by definition would have to be digital. The digital signal is converted to an analog signal. You and your ears hear in analog.

MP3 players would have to be digital because MP3 is a digital format and you would need a digital player that can handle that format.

So you would need an MP3 player or a program (e.g. iTunes )to play an MP3.

Music players that are not digital would be record players and tape players (8-Track deck, cassette tape decks, etc.). Those are analog formats.

I think so. I'm more of an ipod person myself.

By digital, do you mean like complex? If your looking for something simple then try an ipod shuffle. That should work.
