No, because it has nothing to do with points an answer may get.
I like getting thumbs down because that shows there are people out there (even if they are trolls) that find me interesting enough to follow me around and give me some attention to. They e-mail me and say I'm perverted, yet they act like they're in love with me or they wouldn't follow me around so much.

I thumb down quite frequently for one thing - some answers are either done by someone that doesn't belong in horse section, ie those who see it as a way to gain some points and if the question is - Should I buy this horse for blah and blah, and the horse obviously has something wrong with it, and the person says.. "Ohhhh shez 2 purety for wordz" yeah, thumbs down. the other thing is when the answer is going to harm the horse or rider if they carry through - like you said. The ones that the questioner should see that the population does think this person is wrong in their ideas and that they should not follow them. But with my thumbing down, I thumb up any question that I feel that I don't have the experience to answer and thumb up all the ones that I personally think is a good idea. I am a general Thumber. I don't use the thumb down to compete for best answer, like some do.

It did at first, but then my hubby looked at the answers with the thumb down. He thinks someone who feels intimidated by the answer does it to try and get others to join in. My last three thumbs downed questions ended up being selected as best answer! Pretty cool, huh! Have a great weekend! Annie

yes, especially since it takes a lot of guts for someone like me (who is lacking in the confidence and self esteem areas) to answer a question honestly and as smart as I can. It does hurt when someone gives me a thumbs down.

It doesn't make me sad, it just confuses me, especially when people give you a thumbs down for a factual answer.

It gets me a bit angry, actually, probably because I try not to say anything too harsh, and there are some thumbs down stalkers in this category, just not heading towards me..but it still gets me mad.

Yeah, it makes me feel like they're critisizing you, but next time, I try to ask more interesting questions. I don't know why they would put thumbs down on your questions, most of them seem interesting.

Doesn't mean a thing, I ignore it, because it only means that they don't agree with you and it takes no points away. It actually offends me more for people to call other people names like trolls and stuff, what's up with that? Is this a kids question?

Yes, especially if I'm trying to offer support on a serious question, like when somebody just had a pet or relative pass away.
