You have the equation I = PRT and want to solve for T

Simply divide both sides by PR and you will have

I/PR = PRT/PR

On the right hand side, you can cancel out the PR's, thus giving you

I/PR = T

This means take the Interest Amount and Divide it by the Principal multiplied by the Rate.
watch out doing this on your calculator, some will handle it differently. If you have an advanced calculator, enter it as

I/(P*R)

If you have a basic calculator enter I / P and get that amound and then /R (divide it by the rate)

Hope this helps;

P*R is just some number if you make substitutions for the variables so the equation is just:

I = #*T

How do you get T by itself? You would divide both sides by the #.

So to get T by itself you have to divide by PR on both sides.

I/PR = T

T=PR/I

You have to divide both sides by PR so that it T is by itself.

I=PRT becomes I/PR=T

Divide both sides by PR to get T = I/(PR).
