The control people have over thier eyes vary. Some pathological liars have very good control over thier facial expressions, even thier eyes. There are facial expressions that are involuntary called micro-expressions. Micro-expressions are involuntary facial expressions that last about a quarter of a second. They often happen involuntarily and can reveal expressions that arent deliberate.

With some people, their eyes will move upward and to the right (or to the left) when they are accessing the creative part of they brain. This usually mean they are making up a story. This is why they say, the eyes never lie.

I think that the eyes tell it all. What we call 'soul' shines through our eyes. When there is love filling the heart, the eyes shine so beautifully. Happy children have a wonderful sparkle in their eyes. When a person has been abused, mis-used, neglected, just generally mistreated, the eyes can be flat, dull. The sociopath has stone cold eyes...it seems the life has gone out of them.

They do not tell what one might think they tell.
There is paranoia and false guilt, so eyes don't tell. Evidence does. You can feel paranoid and look guilty and be as innocent as a babe. If eyes tell, we could simply do away with courts of law and just look into eyes.
Or we could think someone loves us when in actuality they don't.
Seeing love in someone's eyes isn't necessarily proof of love. You might see love in your lover's eyes during lovemaking and the next day he is with another woman.
I never judge anyone by their eyes,
but only by what they DO.

Because a lier can't look back into the eyes of the person they're lying to. They move their eyes constantly to avoid eye contact. ( They don't want to get caught, so they move all the time.)

Usually, because we as humans have been so outlined on the way we hide or emotion, it has come as a fine art, I believe our eyes are or give away because at or core we long for honesty even in a simple form.

when we look in the eyes of another there is a connection we see ourselves in there eyes we see our own humanity it is difficult for us to look directly in the eyes of another and allude them in ways we would not like to be alluded,
when we try to lie we begin to feel guilty for what we are about to do and we can pick up on that,

compulsive lyres can lie with there eyes as they accept lying to themselves.

perhaps the eyes not lying is agapē (Charity).
