I would really like to know the difference between the two. I've posted this question before and never got a good answer. Please help me!

They are based on the same basic model, since the US inherted much of its legal foundation from England.

There are some major overall differences -- such as the distinction between solicitors and barristers in England, versus their combination as attorneys in the US. British courts also have more archaic formalities than many US courts, though some US courts still have their own foibles.

There are also hundreds if not thousands of differences in procedure and practice, but the same can be said between civil and criminal courts in either country, or between state and federal courts in the US. Giving details on all of the differences and rules of court would be hundreds of pages.
