I was walking my rabbit on a lead and she charged at me and bit my leg. Now the part she bit is purple. Is it blood stuck in there? Will i be okay? What medication should i put on it? What will make it heal faster? How will i make my rabbit stop biting my leg when she's on her lead. Sorry for all the questions. Thanks in advance.

I also think you should get your rabbit checked by a vet. Sometimes animals bite because they are in pain. The 'in heat' idea could be the reason too. Good luck.

I believe it will be OK just sounds like a bruise, but if you're still concerned go to the doctor maybe he/ she'll strain the blood if there is some kind of clot, which I doubt by the way. As far as your rabbit... You can't walk a rabbit on a lead like a dog, you can follow along behind her and guide her as she's exploring. Never pull or yank her if she's in danger of eating any plant (most plant are poisonous to rabbits) just simply pick her up and direct her to a safe place. Use a figure-8 or H harness w/ a leash no longer than 6 ft. it is easier for her to get tangled in a longer one. Do not walk her were there are many potential hazards that could frighten her, like dogs and backfiring cars this can cause her to go into shock and die of a heart attack. Biting usually means the following:
Dominance
Angry
Fearful
Warning (go away now)
Which means either two things something scarred her or you did something she did not like, like pulling on the lead! Just remember she is taking you for a walk not the other way around.

ok well there is many reasons why some rabbits may bite their owners. some are becuase they're in heat, because theyre unwell, because you may have dog fur on you, because they're pregnant. sometimes getting the rabbit desexed can get rid of this behaviour. some ways that my help is crouching down to the rabbits level when greeting it, pat it and then securely lift the rabbit and make it feel safe. if your rabbit is suddenly shy towards you then put food on the floo of its cage and just stay there while it eats. try not to make eye contact as eye contact is a sign that you want to attack the rabbit. once the rabbit is ok with eating while you are there then pplace your hand next to the food while it eats, dont rush things let the rabbit adapt to your hand slowly. eventually over a few days the rabbit should be eating out of your hand. after this start patting it and giving it treats out of your hand. if this doesnt stop then seek medical advice from your vet

How in the world did you train a rabbit to "walk" on a lead??? In the first place, it is not natural for a rabbit to walk on a lead. By the way, rabbits dont walk; they "hop". How old is this bunny, anyway? I've raised rabbits in the past and have never tried to lead one or even seen this done. Rabbits, like us, need their own "space" once in a while. I think you would have a much happier bunny if you just let her loose on your lawn. It seems that you have some control over her so this should'nt be a problem.

To speed healing, soak in hot water for 10 minutes, then cold water for 5 minutes. Then put on some neosporin and a bandaid. If it gets worse, see a doctor.
You will have to watch your rabbit to keep him from doing this again. Notice what causes her to do this.
Rabbits can go on a lead, but they don't walk along like dogs. Maybe have a little bit longer lead so that she is not quite so close to your leg.
Don't worry about rabies, your rabbit doesn't have that. Where would she have gotten it?

As long as he's a domestic rabbit with his rabies shots, you'll be fine.
It is purple because it is bruised a bit. See a doctor if it stays sore or swollen for more that 3 days. He will give you some antibiotics and you will be fine!
Bad lil' Bunny! LOL!
Good Luck!

lol... you'll be fine... i get bit all the time... has your rabbit been desexed (fixed)? if not, that's why she bit you...

A female rabbit can be very, very tempermental when she goes into heat... she'll quit acting like that in a few days...

As for your leg... if it bled, put some neosporin on it... if not... don't worry about it.... it'll hurt for a little while, but it'll get better

hope this helps....
