Question: What do you put on a application if it asks if you're single, married, or divorced?
I lot of applications asks if your singled, married, or divorced and sometimes i put that i'm singled because right now, at this present time, i am but i've been married before and my divorce was about 13 years ago. Would i be lying to them if i say that i'm singled even though i've been divorced?

you're in a marriage. you are going to have disagreements, arguments, doubts, and so on. It comes with the kit. 3 years isn't that long, so this is complicated to assert no rely if or no longer you made the outstanding determination. in spite of the undeniable fact that, the advice i delivers is calm verbal replace. And if he's not listening, then perchance seek for marriage counseling. the considerable element is, a divorce in keeping with an argument like this seems too severe. think of of the toddlers. confident you're no longer their beginning mom, yet i'm confident they have customary you as an fundamental area of the kinfolk. once you get married, you commit your self to the forged AND the undesirable situations. breaking apart over a petty argument is a few thing you do while casually relationship. Divorce should not be on your recommendations until there is extra to the tale than you have suggested. So, confer with him, evaluate counseling, means via. i might wish you married him for a reliable reason.

You would most likely select divorced, but I think that it's up to your personal preference. Technically, you're single, and I really don't think that a potential employer is going to crack down on you if you indicate that you're single rather than divorced. These days, there's really not that much of stigma on either one of those selections, unless perhaps, if you were planning on working as a relationship therapist, or some other job that directly related to your previous martial status. Even then, I wouldn't think it should matter.

What kind of application are you talking about? If it's for a job it's illegal for them to ask whether or not you are single, married, or divorced.

The general rule is that prior to marriage you are single, once you are married you should check married. If you are currently married, but seperated, then you check seperated during the time that you are seperated. If a marriage or seperation leads to divorce, you should select divorced from the time that the divorce is final until your status changes (i.e. you re-marry). The term single typically refers to never married.

Honestly, what business is it of theirs if you are married, single, or divorced? For most things you can feel fine putting single.
For government forms you probably want to put divorced. I'm sure it really doesn't matter, but you don't want to lose your social security benefits because of some bureaucratic law about lying about your marital status. lol

I consider myself single and I am twice divorced. I personally don't care for the divorced selection and won't use it. Credit companies want it so that they have more info on you and your past in case they need to find you or someone you know.

Probably depends on what kind of job youre applying for. If they check deep enough and find out about it,they could legally use it as an excuse to not accept your app. so its probably better to use divorce and be totally honest. It may come up in an interview and then you can tell them how long ago it was. Better to be totally honest up front before they find out themselves. Besides if they find it, they may wonder what else are you hiding, especially with govt or high paying jobs so be honest and dont worry about it. Good luck

I always said single when I was divorced. I just dont see how thats their business. I dont know why its even an option. There is probably a reason and i bet someone will tell you but I dont see it. Just keep marking single. Noone really is going to pay much attention to it anyway i bet.
