Part of respect is communication, honesty and trust. You can't have respect without the other three. You have to listen to her with not only an open mind, but an open heart as well. But she has to do the same. It's a two way street.

How do you "respect" someone? The first rule is you have to think. You think:-
"Do I treat this person as well as I want myself treated?" Simple enough, if you wouldn't like something, don't do it to the one your supposed to love.
"Would I like it if someone else said, did, talked about, acted like me, towards my partner?" So many think that they can treat their partner one way, but woe betide anyone else who would treat them exactly the same way.
"What does the way I act make my partner feel?" It is too easy to say, "but I like it", respect means looking to what the other person feels, how they react and what they would like too.
Trust is earned. The above will help. And it has to be a two way street.

You just respect her, respect her thoughts, feelings, ideas. Never ever tear her down or tell her shes stupid or crazy. Respect comes in so many forms.

Both "true" trust and respect must be earned. In time comes both, but only takes one incident to destroy what might take years to obtain.Trust is the bigger of the two and is also harder to get. But it takes both to get both in return. Think about it and good luck

Talk it out and try to resolve it. That is if you want to work it out. Everyone has problems, you just have to work thru it.
