I have a number of old american coins pictured on my web site -- http://www.valuable-coin-stories.com -- and you should also checkout Flickr. Actually I have some there as well -- here's an example: http://www.flickr.com/photos/75896010@N00/172605313/

Also check out the major coin dealer sites, e.g., Bowers and Merena, Heritage, Stacks, and others. Enjoy!

Here are some of the larger dealers that have some real rare coins. ha.com/coins ( Heritage Auction Galleries), www.pinnacle-rarities.com, www.nrarities.com ( Numismatic rarities LTD) Early U.S. and Roman coins, www.stacks.com (Stacks in a large auction house.) This is just the tip of the iceberg. There are also many colleges that have on line photo's of their collections. Princeton and Yale come to mind. Use google or Yahoo search engines. Don't forget museums. I am not sure what the ANS has to offer but try them American Numismatic Society, they have the best collection of coins in this country, maybe the world.
