Furniture stores might give them away if you ask, also try hospitals.

Appliance or furniture stores. Call and ask first when they are expecting shipments and if they will save you boxes. Most of the stores break them down as they open product. (Too, if they agree to give them to you, pick them up at the agreed to time. If you are a day late, they will assume you aren't coming and break them down anyway.) Stores can't afford to keep the boxes around as they take up so much floor space.)

Anywhere that sells refrigerators and big screen tvs. Call up Best buy, Circut city or the like and ask them for them. They are usually nice about it, and will save some from being crushed for you. Building a fort? Good luck!

Try a wholesaler like Costco, BJ's, or Sam's Club. They give them away all the time.
