When I was growing up you never saw girls or women skateboard but nowadays you might see a few here and there. I'm not sure what their parents or boyfriends are thinking, letting them skateboard. Women don't have the balance and coordination that men do and fall down a lot easier and could get really hurt. I think it is great if they want to sit on the bleachers cheering their men on, but skateboarding is no place for a woman...besides it is a guy's sport anyway.

Sorry..I need to clarify...girls don't have as good of a coordination as guys when doing two things at once...like moving on a skateboard and trying to do tricks.

No balance or coordination? Explain to me how it's mostly women in gymnastics, ballet, dance, and etc then?

Umm, and for the latest thing, the bad at multi tasking things. Well, there actually is studies that prove that women are much better multi taskers than men.

I'm sorry, but you are definitely wrong. You and I may have grown up in the same generation, because I don't recall girls or women skateboarding back in the 1970's either. Excuse me, but *I* skateboard and know a lot of other women who do as well. I'm active and also like to bodysurf and swim. Women have excellent balance- and it's all in the hips- they have a lower center of gravity than men, and they can manoever around just as well as boys or men can. "No place for a woman"? I don't think so! So are you saying there should be no male figure skaters, since it's mostly a female sport? Women now play football, field hockey, pretty much any sport men can do, women can do also. Heck, maybe you ARE older than I am. Your opinion is so outdated.

You begin with "when I was growing up" as if you are satisfied with the amount of growing you've done. I sir, assure you, you have a long way to go. I was amused with the comments written previously to mine, many of them were very fitting. Look, I've been skating for 17 years and if you knew anything about it (which you obviously do not), you'd know that a woman can skate just as well as us guys (there are plenty of professional and amateur women skaters). One of the great things about skateboarding is that it is receptive to all races and genders. You are attempting to tarnish that reputation and the people who are truly are part of the skateboarding culture wouldn't appreciate it, I know I don't. Find something more relevant to worry about, like what you're going to do when social security will be non-existent when you retire from your job.

No offense, but that sounds sexist. Women do not have to be specially treated. All people are equal to one another. And, women can do anything men can do-sometimes even better. There are women in the armed forces fighting for our country, but they can't skateboard? That's just being chauvinistic.

So what? You cant tell them they cant skateboard, its a free country and its up to them. How can you say its a guys sport? Its a guys sport if no women at all have ever played it. Youre a chauvenistic pig and i can see youre going to be a bachelor for a very long time!!

ps. get your facts right. women can multitask far better than us.

I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume this is a sad attempt at being funny.

Especially the women not being as good at balancing. That's just hilarious.

And to the other poster, 2000th century? You can't be serious.

of course its ok, things always change as time goes on.. like girls do more men associated things and men start to do more women associated things.. but girls def. have just as much balance as guys do, their are so many wonderful female dancers and ice skaters and yu need a lot of balance for that
