Yes! - happened to me just the other day! :-)
I spent a long time - getting everything just right - collecting all my thoughts - making sure the spelling / punctuations was reasonably together - and then - just like you - the same thing happened! UGH! - I was so p.o.'d !!!!
Oh well, ya live - ya learn - ya carry on! - There will always be another question to work on the answer to give someone out there! Don't be discouraged! Keep those answers coming anyway!
Have a good day!

Arrrrrrrrrrgggggh! is right!
Or the other thing that happens: I get into an answer and in the middle, go to Google or someplace else to check something and bang -- disconnect from Yahoo! Answers.
I usually don't go back...or, worse, can't find the question!

Yes! This guy was being a total d*ck, and kept posting these rally dumb jokes about 911. I took my time writing a really good answer, explain how offensive it was, and what a jerk he was, and so on. And after I finally perfected my answer, there it was.."This question has been removed"! I was happy they removed his question, but I was pissed b/c I didn't get to tell him off!
I thought you were going to do it too, as a joke. I'm glad you didn't! : )

LOL, that just happened the other day, and it was a great question. Don't know why they removed it. The day before that, I got best answer, and when I went to see what it was for, it was deleted.......

Yes, it is very frustrating to think you might be actually helping someone, and then find that you've wasted your time on an answer they will never even see.
Edit: I actually expected to type in my answer and find that you had removed your question!! :)

No, but sometimes I get thumbs down on answers I spend a lot of time on. That sucks.
