No. Not at all.
First, the US occupation of Iraq is doing nothing to stop or prevent terrorists who are already in dozens of other countries from plotting against the US. All the occupation does is ensure that we don't have the resources to face those other threats.
Second, let's assume that the nay-sayers are correct -- let's assume that the terrorists will just wait until the US forces are gone before launching their attacks. That means that for the 18 months in the interim, less people are getting killed and the new Iraq govt has a better chance to get things under control -- even if it faces a bigger threat later.
So, even if the withdrawal date will just postpone the violence, how is that itself not a good thing, since it gives the Iraqis time to get things stablized and under control, and gives them something of a respite until the later attacks.

What do i think of? i think of that this idiotic thought is information that past militia provider could be a call for to grow to be president. all of us with militia adventure and a concepts is familiar with it is a terrible thought. The efficient withdraw of troops from Iraq will take years, he can take us out in sixteen months, specific, yet we are going to easily be ideal back there in yet another year or 2 while the insurgents overthrow the vulnerable, risky, and corrupt government and somebody worse than Saddam takes over. yet what the hell might i be attentive to, i replaced into purely interior the Marine Corp infantry for 4 years. i'm specific there are some CNN knowledgeable liberals on right here who be attentive to way extra suitable than I do approximately militia technique.

No it does not matter - - - this idea that the so called insurgents (check out your dictionary why this word doesn't make sense) - - - it is like a brawl in a parking lot - - - as of now US forces are trying to keep the participants from ripping each other to shreds - - - all parties in Iraq would like to see the US go so they can get back to the task of killing one another. The only Bully bad a s s enough to keep order in the parking lot was Saddam and now he is dead - - - as bad as Saddam was it has to be admitted that being the focal point of every Iraqis hatred he kept Iraq united.
Peace...

You have to be honest with yourself on this. When the news of the withdraw date in the funding bill came out what happened in Iraq? The violence was escalated! this is cause and effect. The weaker we appear the more damage the hostiles will do. It is in their minds a war of attrition. They know the American people do not have the will to fight long battles and also know we don't have the will to do what it takes to make it a short battle . In truth the war opposition defeated us long ago and will ultimately bring the violence back here.
This lesson should have been learned long ago with the worlds dealings with Hitler. Appeasement and negotiation only made the world weaker and nearly gave him all of Europe.

Those who are fighting will continue and grow in number the longer we stay. See the Global Terrorism Report, put out by our own people, which says Bush has been the biggest recruiter for terrorists ever with his war for oil contracts. I could only guess, but if we actually announced we were leaving, the fighting might go down in a sigh of relief all over Iraq.

yes, they would what to launch a major campaign until we left, you only have to look at south east Asia when we pulled out of Viet Nam, over one million innocent people where murdered - Directly because of the Media, and Anti-War civilians cowardice or ignorance, possibly both.
This will be the outcome if the surrender-crats are successful in congress.

It makes no difference what so ever. The same thing will happen if we leave today or 10 years from now. The only difference will be how many more American families will be visiting gravesites on Memorial day 2010.

Yes it does matter. If we give them a withdrawal date, they will simply stop their activities and fool everyone into believing they have given up and as soon as our troops leave they will pop right back up and the slaughter will be even worse.
