I have this issue were the place I was last employed I was a security guard. The employees inside of the factory needed a way to contact me in case of an emergency so I gave them my cell number considering I would be outside and only entered the building once and hour. Now I have this wife from one of the men who had my phone number, accussing me of sleeping with her husband. Which I never have and never will. But the way she contacted me is funny because with her having my phone number she felt the need to contact me on Myspace. THe accussations she is claiming are all false and I would never cheat on my husband. So why contact me on Myspace instead of calling me like a grown woman with accussations may do? Any suggestions on how to deal with this and why she may have contacted me this way?

I no longer work for the security company since they laid me off in January and it wasn't for the phone number thing. I only gave my phone number to the supervisor that worked the shift and the reason for it is because they had no way to contact me in case of an emergency. I had a radio but that was to contact my superiors. It's been almost 6 months since I gave the supervisor my number and it's not the supervisor's wife that is calling me it is one of the employee's that works there. But why now? Why not let it go? I have no contact with this guy and don't want any.

I would just ignore her, unless she continues to harass you. If she does, keep documentation of the harassment (like the MySpace messages) and take them to the police. Sounds like this woman has major jealousy and insecurity issues.

I am a security officer and my company provide us with cell phone for the people in the plant to reach us if we are out of the office. I think it is unprofessional to have given your personal number to the people in the plant any. You should have thought about the results beforehand. I have never heard of giving your personal number to contact you, seeing that you enter the building every hour. If you are not in the building at all times, guards have an office and a phone at all times. You have not thought this thing through. Only the supervisors call the guards unless it is an emergency. Do you see where I'm going? I can see why the wife is mad. She doesn't fall for this reasoning either. You have to deal with this as best as possible. You better hope that she does not contact your LT, SGT or company head and report immoral actions on your part. When on duty, I have allot of men in the plant, wanting to talk to me, but I hold my job and self respect higher than that. These people can't and will not pay your bills, you have a mess on your hands. What did you do? Go to each person in the building and give them your cell number? And just happen, this is the only wife that have spoken out? You better hope that she don't call your husband.

You don't have to defend yourself from this gossip. Let her be what she wants to be and walk right through this.
