I'm a typical african. I live in nigeria and grew up in the UK. My typical day: Wake up, have cereal, go to work, get home, watch some cable, work on my pc and then go online. Weekends: might go clubbing with some pals or hang out with my boyfriend watching the Premiership with a Heineken and pizza. The only real difference between my life in Nigeria and my life in d UK is that the power company tends to be erratic and we don't take for granted a lot of things people in the West do. We appreciate life and understand the importance of family. We are friendly and gracious people. For the person who said ur likely to get killed travelling to africa...i'm more likely to get killed in New York city than anywhere in my country. I'm also more likely to own my own home and property here than i am abroad. There was a survey done last year that stated that Nigerians are the happiest in the world.

Near the equator the people rise at 6am (when the sun rises) eat and the women go to work. The more modern man may work also. The other men sit in the bar all day. At around 5 PM they eat while it is still light ( the men and women sit apart) . In the evening they do a lot of singing and dancing for their fun and recreation and then go to bed.

I suspect most of Africa is like this, at least out in the bush and away from large cities.

The temperature is very comfortable in most places. Oh yes, the sun sets at 6pm year around. Remember this is central Africa.

Thats such a wierd question, Africa is a vast continent so there is really no such thing as a typical day. Depending on what country you live in the day would be very differant, and even within countries trying to say what is typical is impossible! There are such varying levels of wealth etc even within countries that it is impossible to generalise.

Jeez!!!!!!!! WHY THE URGENCY!?!????!??!

a typical day in Africa is hot and dry. I think the typical African does whatever most humans do doing the day, get out of bed, try to find something to eat , find something fun to do or doing their jobs, come home, eat again, go to bed, get up and do the same thing tomorrow. and I mean that honestly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Africa is too vastly different to make a general comment. I've been to Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Djibouti and Kenya. All 5 places were vastly different. Djibouti was TOO hot. I just flat out didn't feel comfortable in Egypt (some places I feel like it's home and others I can't wait to leave...even here in the states). I loved Tunisia and Morocco. I really enjoyed being in Kenya and could see myself living there.
I remember when our ship was pulling in to Tunis, Tunisia. Black friend of mine and I were leaning on the railing. Kit got tears in his eyes and said, "Look, the home of my ancestors." When he came back the first day, he was ticked. "I saw not ONE black person in town!" It was NORTH Africa for crying out loud!

North African or South African?

One starves and works in the fields and walks miles to get water while the other (with white skin) has a typical day like many americans.

omg, why? Do you not realize that you are opening the gates wide for racist trolls?

Okay, well I'm of direct West African descent, and I've been to Africa many times and you know what Africans do? The same bloody things Americans do! Except we have nicer beaches and it doesn't snow.
