I have this picture of the morning after a Norweigen (sp?) ice-storm that I can display at 1900x1200 on my wide-screen monitor. It's amazing!
But the best screen saver I have seen has a "how to" written for it in this month's Maximum PC magazine. Basically, you take your monitor and move it somewhere. Then take a good resolution digital picture of the space behind your monitor. Put your monitor back where it was. Use that picture you took as a screen saver and it will look like you "can see right through" your monitor. Much fun.
As for a screen saver - I use the Folding@home (see below) screensaver. It is part of a distributed computing project run by stanford that seeks to understand how proteins "fold" from the amino acid "ribbon" that genes encode into their end state. It's only the folded protein that does anything. Key to lots of research like cancer.

Wallpaper is the background you see when you turn your computer on or have no programs up.
A Screensaver is a set of pictures, effects etc that comes up if your computer has been idle for too long
You can change both of these things by right-clicking on your desktop and clicking "Properties" =)

My wallpaper's an illustrative image: a ladybug in a field. It's very summerish. I like a wallpaper that reflects the season.
My screensaver features some flying fairies...

My Wallpaper is a picture of a deserted beach in Cuba and my Screensaver is a fish tank at the moment ,I change them all the time.One.One of my favourites is Dolphins.

My wallpaper is a picture I took in Cocoa Beach of a pier with a tiki bar by the ocean....my screensaver is the Hula Twins. (After Dark screensaver...animated twins competing with each other hula hooping.)
