The lawn has been mowed twice - probably shorter the first time than recommended. Any suggestions to green up those yellow areas.

I excluded in my previous details that the weather has been cold and even frosted since the first mowing. We had rain Friday and a soaking rain Saturday (yesterday) and the yellow spots are still there.

Maybe some of the cooler weather that we've gotten lately here in April could have sucked out some of the water in the root base in those spots. Where the yellow spots are at, is the soil drier? If you have already done your Spring fertilization don't re-fertilize those areas. Hit the declining spots with some water in the morning or early afternoon. Raise your mow height to 2 1/2 inches. Most likely the plant got scalped down a little and yellowed out.
