Great question. You obviously have less chance of getting a BA if you do this. But sometimes the questions are so good that you just have to add your threepenneth! (Have your say, for any American's benefit). I know a bloke who answered a question with 80 other answers and he was well chuffed when he got the BA. Though I think there may be something going on between Questioner and Answerer there. Which is just not on!

NO! Most often, by the time my answer posted, it's already on page 2 altho when I started doing it there was but a couple. And I never read all the answers until the question has been resolved.
I hardly post any question but whenever I do, I read all the answers, long or short.

It doesn't matter to me how many answers are already posted. If I want to answer the question, I post an answer. On the rare occasion I have received tons of answers, yes I read every one of them, more than once, before choosing the Best Answer.

if I feel like answering a question then I'll answer it without even looking at any of the other answers...
when I get answers, I usually read until I've found a good one then I just kinda fast read the others

No. I choose the questions I answer by the quality of the question and the ability to answer it; not on the number of answers. Well; that's assuming the asker isn't almost litterally begging me to be a smart ***. Occasionally I take those to.

If it's an interesting topic, I will read many of them. It's easy to scan over those who answer only with a yes or no.

The ones I shy away from are those that are inflamatory in nature. I also will not answer those that get answers exactly as I would say it. That is unneeded redundancy and I don't need the points that bad.
