There is a bible verse etched largely on the wall of our local courthouse so instead of objecting I decided that since America is a free country that I should just place a monument of my God Peter Pan in the Local Courthouse. I personally worship Peter Pan and bheleive he is the Alpha and the omega and has created us in his image.

Well the courthouse wont let me praxctice my right to display my God in the local courthouse. I feel this is a violation because it offends me that the christian verse was allowed and even a ten commandments is in the courthouse.

What legal recourse do I have?

I'm afraid the problem may be a lack of proportionality. Since they don't have a statue of the Judeo-Christian god in the court, I believe they are correct in rejecting your statue. If you were to offer a quote of Peter Pan's that deals with the subject of law or justice, I think you have a much better First Amendment argument.

Thank you for considering the work of our founding fathers and joining in their belief that the government should not favor any religion.

None, as far as your petition. The courthouse is not the proper forum for anyone's religious displays.

However, you do have legal recourse if the courthouse is displaying symbols or text of one religion and won't give equal treatment to every other religion. That's religious discrimination, and violates both the 14th Amendment and the 1st Amendment Establishment clause.

Unfortunately none...it would have to be a recognized religion...not one practiced or created by an individual...especially if for creating a controversy....if you were muslim, buddist, hindu...ect...you would have a case.
