While the Jewish scripture promises the Holy Land to the Jews one must realize, first of all, that this is the Jewish scripture, written by Jews, to elevate Jews.

Second, you must be very careful in lumping all of the Palestinians together on in one. It probably never crossed your mind that there are significant numbers of Palestinians who are Christians and there are even a small percentage that are Jewish. They are not all Muslim.

Third, Jerusalem is a holy city to three faiths, at the very least. The Dome of the Rock is a temple that recalls not only where Muhammad made a leap into heaven but also it's the traditional spot where Abraham offered one of his sons (Jews and Muslims disagree as to which son) to God as a willing sacrifice and a statement of obedience to God. It is also, in some traditions, the site of creation as well.

So, for Muslims, there is no promise by God to give the Holy Land, traditional Palestine ONLY to the Jews. It is a land that is second in Islam only to Mecca and Muslims will never surrender access.
