Have you always been thin or is it a recent problem - have you always found it hard to gain weight ? I am not a nurse or a doctor but my initial reaction would be for you to check if you have an Overactive Thyroid. You should go to your doctor and ask him to check you for this.

Your thyroid gland is a small, butterfly-shaped gland located just below your Adam's apple. The thyroid produces hormones that affect your body's metabolism and energy level. Thyroid problems are among the most common medical conditions but, because their symptoms often appear gradually, they are commonly misdiagnosed.

Common symptoms of hyperthyroidism are:

Jitteriness, shaking, increased nervousness, irritability.
Rapid heart beat or palpitations
Feeling hot
Weight loss
Fatigue, feeling exhausted
More frequent bowel movements
Shorter or lighter menstrual periods

I don't know if this is of any use to you. I hope it helps :)

Hi Alicia, I had that problem at 18 yrs. of age and the Dr. told me he can see all my bones sticking out at 90lbs. He told me to go and buy small cans of SURE, however I've seen cheaper kinds. It has all the vitamins & more in it with different flavours to chose from and it's almost like a milkshake, you'd like it add strawberries, etc. to it, like really creamy, but that's supposed to be with your meals and a snack. The BEST thing & quickest way for you! Summers comming & you must put something in your bathing suit, right? Hope I answered your question, actually they were Dr.'s Orders!
Good-Luck,
Summer

I think Diana meant "Ensure", and try adding more protein to your diet to build muscle, and exercises will help to keep body fat down. Muscle is good for you, and protein is good. Add milk to your diet as well.
