Probably need a codec ( this is a small translator program that allows the computer to display the image)
You can download codecs - look for K-lite codec pack or if you look at the filename of the film you are trying to watch it will have an extension - it will look like Movietitle.divx or something like that, if you type "divx player" in the search bar it should come up with something for you

Maybe your computer doesn't have enough memory for you to see the picture, OR your computer doesn't have a good enough video card.
