Well today at the airport the people checking the stuff or one careless lady tripped the container containing my wallet and my watch. My watch is cerruti 1881. It costs about 550$ and I suppose it is quartz. Can the mechanism inside have been damage somehow. The thing is the watch is all metal and is made from steel so it's quite heavy ( it fell bezel-down ) The other thing is when I rotate the bezel there is some sort of very fine powder acumulating on the surface of the glass. Could tge glass have been driven out of its place and the watch unhermetised?

It is damaged. Your watch is no longer hermetically sealed. The fine powder is a dessicant (a drying agent, probably corn starch) to protect the delicate metal parts. I know that no financial reimbursement cannot compensate for any emotional attachment (for example, if it was a special gift to you or an inheritance), but if you file a claim with the airline and the government for negligence, you will be generously compensated for your loss.

possible take it to the dealer. I have a rolex submariner and recently it fell off the bed onto a tile surface and the glass literally just shattered its a tough watch and been through some tough situations with me but that little fall messed it right up.

Anything's possible. Take it to a jeweler to have it inspected.
