Do you think that this is a good trade: I give up David Oritz, Jermaine Dye, Melvin Mora, and Derek Lowe and I get Carlos Delgado, Carlos Beltran, Garret Atkins, and John Smoltz.
Who gets the better deal?

Excellent deal. Dye is going to regress this year and Mora isnt very good. Lowe will not blow anyone away either. Smoltz could possibly log 200 innings, Beltran and Delgado can hit 40 homers and beltran could steal 25 bases this year. Atkins can hit 30 homers too. Do it.

I think that you should accept this trade because:
Ortiz numbers may go down this season, Dye last season isn't going to happen again, Mora is average, Lowe is only a good pitcher....But you are getting Delgado even though he is old but he plays like he isn't, Beltran is awesome he can have great number throughout the stats, Atkins was incredible last season expect the same, and John Smoltz is just an Legend.....

Accept the trade. You would lose some power giving up Ortiz for Delgado but you improve your team in every other position. Smoltz and Atkins are much better than Mora and Lowe and that would be the difference.

Well you are giving up to me what equates to a 1st rounder with ortiz and a 4th rounder with dye and two late round picks (lowe and mora) and in return, you get a 4/5th rounder in delgado, a second rounder in beltran, a 3/4th rounder in atkins and a 5th rounder in smoltz. You get four top five round draft picks and only give up two, while one of the other players in the deal is certainly going to remember he is on the downside of his career and start sucking again soon (mora). I definitely take that trade in a heartbeat. I think you are actually kind of ripping that guy off slightly.

i think this trade works in your favor. david ortiz is one of my favorite hitters to watch but if you look at the trade as a whole, then you realize that your getting 4 great players while only losing 1 great player and a medicre player.

delgado beltran>dye
atkins>mora
smoltz>lowe

the clencher here is smoltz over lowe. smoltz is a legend and could have won 20 games last year if it was for their horrible bullpen. now that they have solidified their bullpen, he could log 200 innings and maybe get 20 wins!! but i love this trade for you!! good luck!

I would need to compare the stats face to face to be sure. But it doesn't sound bad on paper.
