When i go to start my car, i put the key in the ignition but i cant turn it. ?What can i do to fix it? I cant start it. its a 97 pontiac grand am se

The frist thing to check is, is the steering wheel turned? Sometimes, if a wheel is in a bind (locked to one side or another) you can try to turn the wheel toward the side the wheels are cut to, and that will free up the lock assy. Good luck

It might be the ignition Switch but it might all so be the key. Do you have another key for it? If so see if that one works.

move the steering wheel around, it's probably got the ignition locked and make sure it's all the way in park.

check to make sure the car is in the park position
