Stop Alessandro Farnese from taking Antwerp in 1585. Would have kept the Low Countries united, and the Southern Netherlands out of the hands of the Spanish and the Counter-Reformation. Maybe.

The moment that happened on this date (April 14) in 1865. I would have had a guard at Ford's Theater stop John Wilkes Booth from entering and assassinating Abraham Lincoln.

As sad as it makes me to say this, I would change one thing and one thing only. The moment that the human race began to evolve beyond the level of the other great apes. Or, if you are a believer in creationism, the moment God created people. Other than cosmic disasters, only humans have uselessly slaughtered other, harmless living creatures for no reason than because they could do so. Only humans have begun the process whereby the planet may become unable to support life. Only humans have the ability to blow up and poison every portion of this amazing living organism we call Earth. Only humans foul their own nests and take more from the environment than they need to survive. I've never seen a leopard wearing a mink coat, nor a swordfish with a bass mounted on the wall of its home. I wish I didn't feel this way, but having studied history most of my life, I believe WE are nature's greatest and costliest error, and I don't think we're ready or currently willing to become better neighbors.

After WW2 ended, Ho Chin Ming asked the Americans for aid in keeping the French from coming back into Vietnam. I would make Harry Truman say to Ho Chin Ming that we will help him by giving the land to the Vietnamese, helping him form a democratic government & asking them to grow rice. As payment for staying out of Vietnam, giving the French (former) landowners excess Victory cargo ships to become sea captains instead and transport the rice to the hungry populations of Europe and Japan. Since Truman turned Ho down, he turned to Russia for help, formed a commie government and fought us in the Vietnam War.

It would be something that happened very recently, because if it was too far back, it could completely change the world how it is today. I think I would have had the Nationals win the world series last year (Go Nats!)

From what I have read, Hitler was a very sick child. Too bad the doctor cured him. I think I would change that.
